• Progression is assured because the planned curriculum is designed to take account of how learners move towards clearly defined end points
• The curriculum is ambitious and embraces the aims of national curricular or end of key stage tests
• Ensuring learners can build competence in basic, core and thinking skills is at the heart of planning to ensure all learners can access the full curriculum
• The curriculum has breadth and depth and creates for the learner the ability to make connections across the curriculum as well as within subject specific learning
